This page provides a summary of each countries administrative structure of healthcare delivery provided

UK

Healthcare in the UK is devolved to each of the four countries (Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland and England). Each country has its own Department of Health and each country has a different approach in the administration of healthcare.

The administration of healthcare in England undertook a significant change in April 2013. For the purposes of health workforce planning the changes in April 2013 saw the creation of a new body called Health Education England (HEE) [2] and underneath that 13 Local Education Training Boards (LETBs) [3], whose responsibility is to provide the NHS with the its future workforce. In 2016 the orginal 13 LETBs became 13 Health Education England Local Offices (aka HEELO's) with the number of LETBs reducing to 4.
